Probable maximum precipitation (PMP): fundamentals and applications in hydrometeorological risk management
Talk on how probable maximum precipitation (PMP) has evolved and is applied in risk management, with Yusuke Hiraga and Miguel Lagos.

The UTFSM Hydrology Group invites you to a talk on how probable maximum precipitation (PMP) has evolved and how it is applied in risk management.
Dr. Yusuke Hiraga (Tohoku University, Japan) will share his research on PMP and its applications in different regions and climates. Dr. Miguel Lagos-Zúñiga will present recent experience in Chile using PMP as a design and verification criterion for tailings storage facilities and large reservoirs, under stationary and climate change conditions.
The talk is a space for academia and industry to share views on the challenges and applications of PMP in managing critical infrastructure under climate change.
