From droughts to floods: challenges and opportunities in studying transitions between hydrological extremes
Talk by Eduardo Muñoz Castro, civil engineer and doctoral researcher in hydrology, water resources and climate change.

The UTFSM Hydrology Group invites you to a talk on the challenges and opportunities in studying transitions between hydrological extremes.
About the speaker
Eduardo Muñoz Castro is a civil engineer and doctoral researcher specializing in hydrology, water resources and climate change. He is a researcher at the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) and a PhD candidate in Environmental Sciences at ETH Zurich. He also works as an independent hydrology and climate change advisor on public and private projects in Chile.

His work covers hydrological modeling, mountain hydrology, extreme hydrometeorological events, streamflow forecasting, uncertainty quantification and hydrological design. He has taken part in applied projects on incorporating climate change into hydraulic infrastructure design, water availability projections and hydroclimatic hazard assessment, with public agencies, consulting firms and mining and energy companies in Chile.
